Center Selector (Language Routing Tool)
Description
The Center Selector is a 48k 24bit digital audio routing device with 3 surround mix outputs. Each 5.1 output can have a different language in the center channel, additionally allowing for level control of each center channel. A second language can be mixed under the primary language for each mix output. A third input can be used for axillary purposes such as a local studio feed.
Center Selector I/O
1 x 5.1 input (3 BNC AES pairs)
8 x Language inputs (4 BNC AES pairs)
3 x 5.1 outputs (9 BNC AES pairs)
Operation
Original Language – The language original to the country of origin. Broadcast Language – The program language to be broadcast. The center channel of each mix output (1-3) can be fed by the 5.1 mix input center channel or any of the 8 language inputs. You can also have the “original” language feed the mix output’s center channel at a lower level than the “broadcast” language. This allows the end viewer to hear the “broadcast” language they prefer while also hearing the “original” language at a lower level. The same functions can be used for surround, stereo, and mono.
